About FiBAN
FiBAN – one of the world’s largest business angel networks connecting private investors with startups.
Finnish Business Angels Network (FiBAN) is a non-profit association of private investors on a mission to inspire private investments. The network is one of the largest and most active business angel networks in Europe with over 650 approved members. FiBAN is a member of the European Business Angels Network (EBAN), and was chosen as the Business Angel Network of the Year in 2012 and 2014. FiBAN received the esteemed Internationalization Award of the President of the Republic of Finland in 2017.
Business angels are private individuals who invest their personal assets in high growth potential startups. Generally, in return, they would receive a share of the capital stock of the target company. Business angels bring their own intellectual capital to the company and make it possible to utilize their personal contact network. Angel investors usually invest in the early stages of the target companies, and at the same time, offer guidance on business development. Angel investors are key players in creating high growth companies, which in turn play a key role in the development of the regional economy.
