History of FiBAN

We are one of the largest and most active business angel networks in the world.

Finnish Business Angels Network ry (FiBAN) is a non-profit association of private investors on a mission to inspire private investments. The network is one of the largest and most active business angel networks in the world with over 600+ approved members.

Our three main activities consist of matching startups and investors, offering certified investor education, and representing the public interests of private investors. Our vision is to become the world’s leading private investors’ network and make Finland the best country for growth-company investing. Our values guide our everyday operations: Integrity, Cooperation, Independence, and Responsibility.

History: The Founders of FiBAN

FiBAN was founded by the initiative of business angels Juha Kurkinen and Ari Korhonen in 2010. The initial event was arranged in cooperation with Risto Kalske from Sitra. The activity started with the gathering of the following business angels 7th of December 2010. The activity was coordinated by Claes Mikko Nilsen (prev. Nieminen).
