Verve Ventures gives FiBAN members access to varied European deal flow
August 23, 2022
FiBAN and Verve Ventures have concluded a partnership that allows FiBAN members to access the large and varied deal flow that Verve Ventures offers to private investors. Their startup investment process is 100% digital, which makes investing in startups easy.
According to Sifted, Verve Ventures is among Europe’s top ten most active investors in several categories. In 2022, Verve Ventures plans to invest more than 70 million euros and increase its portfolio to 150 startups. In Finland, the company has already invested in Bob W and plans to make more in the coming years.
For FiBAN members, however, Verve Ventures’ deal flow is highly complementary. It will allow them to cherry-pick from different startups across Europe to diversify their investments geographically, across different industries and stages. Verve Ventures brings a unique investment model to the FiBAN members, according to which a custom syndicate of investors is pooled for each investment.
Verve Ventures’ team of investment professionals consists of 20 (out of 50 professionals). The team is based in Zurich, Paris, and Berlin, with experts in Physics, Biotechnology, Engineering, and other relevant topics. The digital infrastructure is developed in-house, making investing in startups and managing one’s holdings as easy as possible.
“For startups across Europe, Verve Ventures offers access not only to foreign capital but also to an exclusive network of corporates, as well as qualified investors that combines successful entrepreneurs and C-level executives”, says Chris Gay-Crosier, who leads Verve Ventures’ international expansion. “With the FiBAN partnership, we add another network in a highly dynamic environment to our network, which will benefit both our portfolio startups as well as our investor network”, he adds. Verve Ventures already has established partnerships with business angel networks in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Luxemburg, and Belgium.
Verve Ventures’s investment portfolio includes several well-known startups, such as insurtech unicorn Wefox, direct air capture startup Climeworks, and drone company Verity, founded by the entrepreneur who sold Kiva to Amazon for $775M. In 2021 alone, Verve Ventures has had ten successful exits, of which two were IPOs.
Come meet Verve Ventures and hear more at our joint networking evening at Maria 01: Building & maintaining an angel portfolio. The event will take place on October 13th from 16:00 onwards.
