The EBAN Annual Congress, Europe’s largest and most influential business angel event, is coming to Helsinki in June 2019. The event will be hosted by Finnish Business Angels Network (FiBAN) – one of the biggest and most active business angel networks in the world with 650 approved investor members. FiBAN has been awarded with The Business Angel Network of the Year in 2012 and 2014 by EBAN, and Internationalization Award 2017 of the President of the Republic of Finland.

FiBAN joins forces with Arctic15, which is the most effective matchmaking startup event in the Nordics and Baltics taking place in Helsinki every spring. Together, FiBAN and Arctic15 are eager to create an inspirational experience that offers valuable matchmaking, new cross-border investment opportunities and precious training about startup investing. EBAN Helsinki 2019 will also be an excellent way for EBAN members to discover the North. Other Nordic and Baltic Business Angel Networks will be participating and contributing to make the trip to the North worth even a long journey.

“We eagerly look forward to working very hard with all ecosystem players – including the City of Helsinki, the Finnish government and other business angel networks in the North – to make the congress a productive and enjoyable experience for all participants.” says FiBAN’s Managing Director Reidar Wasenius. “Finland has the presidency of the Council of the EU from January to June 2019. The EBAN Congress is an excellent way to support the growth of the startup ecosystem, and collaboration at the EU level.” he adds.

The EBAN Congress experience on 3-4 June will be continued on 5-6 June in the form of the Arctic15 startup conference. In order to provide an even wider perspective on the Finnish startup ecosystem, the week will include several side events, such as the Helsinki Startup Day and the Investor Sauna.
