In approximately one month, FiBAN is turning 10 -years old. To celebrate this achievement, this fall we have been working on two projects that will be launched during FiBAN’s birthday week, starting December 7th: one a chronicle of our 10 -year history and the other a data collection of angel investment statistics from the past decade.

November has typically been a month full of events, happenings and get-togethers. So it is this year as well, although the channels and formats have naturally had to have been adapted to fit this year’s climate. Over the next couple of weeks FiBAN will be arranging:

Although in many ways the current pandemic has closed borders between countries and made the world feel more distant, in some ways the world just keeps getting smaller (thanks to online opportunities attendance). It has been wonderful to have participants joining our online events from all over Finland and neighboring countries and other parts of the world.

The one event which we have had to postpone is our fabulous 10 year Gala. The initial date was set as December 10th, which would have been on the week that FiBAN was founded. The new celebration date is now set on September 9th, 2021 which is when the first ever FiBAN Angel Day took place. The evening will be about celebrating and champagne not hand sanitisers and zoom -links. Remember to take your tuxedo and ball gown to the dry cleaners and save the date! The event will take place on the evening of September 9th at the House of Nobility in Helsinki.

FiBAN’s “birthday week”, starting December 7th will still be celebrated, in this year’s fashion (online and socially distant), by revealing our two projects, mentioned-above. So – stay tuned!

Ps. FiBAN Monthly: News and views is a new series launched in October. A new post will be shared each month, alternating between FiBAN Chair of the Board Reima Linnanvirta and yours truly. In case you missed Reima’s letter from October, you can read it here.
